Virginia Proud is a writer, blogger and ex-corporate mastermind, with a plan to roam as broadly as possible until the money runs out.
She may be perpetuating the Australian cultural stereotype by wandering the world, but also claims a hereditary disposition; a family that never could stay in the one place and to this day lives on three different continents
Virginia has been writing since… well it’s been a long time. Juggling a career in law, marketing and innovation, she also studied acting and playwriting and served on the board of the Australian Poetry Centre. She is now living in Hungary, writing, directing and performing theatre and nursing a draft of her first novel. With some like minds, she established the Budapest Secret Theatre, dedicated to English language performance in Budapest.
This blog is inspired by over twenty years of travel; living in eight countries and exploring many more as an occasional visitor. She takes inspiration from the people she’s met, locals and expats, willingly - or sometimes unwillingly – expanding their horizons, often with unexpected consequences.
The fiction requires a bit of coddling, but a new story should post about once a month, in addition to the articles, memories and commentaries on life and issues in Expatria.
